Experience the richness of my historically built harpsichords.

Christian Kuhlmann and his Henri-Hemsch

With a passion for sound and craftsmanship, I build, tune, and create harpsichords that echo a bygone era – producing sounds that linger.

Inspired by the originals of the 17th and 18th centuries, I build harpsichords that are not merely reconstructed but sonically unique—rooted in deep knowledge, craftsmanship, and 29 years of experience.

Giulia Nuti recording

Giulia Nuti recorded the six Partitas by J.S. Bach on my Vatter-Hemsch harpsichord. This recording makes audible like few others the sheer tonal richness this instrument possesses.

I played the Vatter-Hemsch harpsichord of Christian Kuhlmann a few weeks after it was finished. The sound was already the one of an ancient harpsichord! (...) The musician's choice!
