“Neues Kleines Ruckers”
The Instrument
My “Neues Kleines Ruckers” offers a greater variety of tonal colours and register options compared to its smaller sibling.
Tonal Versatility
Here there are two 8ʹ registers (but only one 8ʹ string), as I added a second 8ʹ register behind the 4ʹ to complement the front 8ʹ register (original). These two 8ʹ registers can pluck the single 8ʹ string at different points or simultaneously.
Between the two 8ʹ registers sits the 4ʹ; the harpsichord has a range from BB to cʹʹʹ, a transposing device for 415/440 Hz, and a lute stop (which sounds different depending on the active 8ʹ register).
All of this is combinable with each other, so as a single-manual instrument it offers more register variations than a double-manual harpsichord.

Ho avuto la fortuna di fare un concerto sul piccolo Ruckers di Christian: che meraviglia!!! Uno strumento speciale, incredibilmente ricco di possibilità sonore, che va dalla dolcezza più tenera alla forza più intensa grazie alle sue combinazioni di registri. Straordinario sentire come un piccolo strumento, leggero, molto pratico, sia così completo, così duttile. Ho suonato musica spagnola del XVI secolo e musica francese della fine del XVII e tutto era perfetto. Mi è rimasto un bellissimo ricordo e anche tanta, tanta voglia di avere per me uno strumento così.... Grazie Christian e BRAVO!!
